What a CrAzY DaY

It is December 30th and we are getting rain, all day ....That is a crazy way to end Christmas Vacation
We were suppose to go to Scott & Angie's for New Years but now this rain is going to turn to freezing rain and snow....not so good for driving.

I hope We can get there on Saturday or Sunday.

Then the Vacation is over and back to school, 2 weeks and then on to  a new semester....and the 1/2 way mark for the 2010-2011 school yr.

If we are stuck in the house all weekend we are definitely going to have to put away Christmas decor and do some cleaning and organizing...It is Time, and we can then Start the New Year off right.

Well, Happy New Year to All, I pray you have good health, happiness, and the Peace of Christ with you every day in all you do.

It's finally Here!

Yup, it's here, Christmas Vacation.....how sweet it is.  Started it off with a stop at the Crystal w/ Anna and Co-workers for a delicious supper of a Union Burger Basket and a Black Russian...hmmmmmmm that was good.  Had a gass of wine with garlic crackers and cheesey spinach dip. and I am turning in for the night at 8:30 ...sleeping in too!

I'm off till January 3rd, that is a whole lot of time for relaxing and renewing my mind, body, and spirit.  I am so looking forward to time with my family this Christmas season.  I'm especially looking forward to our new Haggenmiller family get together which this year will feature the ugly or over the top Christmas attire and mexican food....ah   it doesn't get much better than that!   I got Al and my outfitts today at a thrift store in rown....they even match...and I even got it cheap because all Christmas items were half price today...SCORE!

A little task turned into a big frustration

Have you ever tried to do a simple project that turned into a total fiasco?  This pretty much describes the events of my trying to make a gift for a friend.  After dragging  my ol' sewing machine up from the basement and setting the darn thing up the stupid sewing machine won't work!   No worries, I will simply hand sew the thing...how hard can it be....oh crap...that was not easy at all.....I was hoping to have the darn thing done by tomorrow....4 hours later, I realize that aint happening....God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change...like winter roads, cars sliding in the ditch, broken sewing machines and you know the rest!  Grant me the courage to change the things I can...that would be my attitude.  And the wisdom to know the difference.

12 days till Christmas..

The snowstorm and cold temps this weekend was a great opportunity to just stay in and bake cookies, clean my neglected kitchen, & finish up some crafts Ive been working on.

I know this to be true, whether I am ready or not, Christmas will come on December 25th, it will not wait for me.  I also know that the Christmas we all celebrate is not about giving or getting gifts. It is a celebration of the "light" that came into the darkness and illuminate the world.  The "light" that lives inside us all.

I hope in the mist of the hustle and bustle, that you might feel the true spirit of Christmas, bask in the light of Our Dear Savior's birth.  In the gift that God gives to us freely.
This little light of mine....I'm gonna let it shine!

Happy Thanksgiving! here comes Christmas

There is nothing like a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and sitting to the table with loved ones to enjoy it.  I am so very Thankful for God's abundant Blessings, His Love is amazing!

I am looking forward to Christmas, especially this year because, by some miracle, we are all on the calendar for a family gathering of just being together and enjoying a meal.  I pray that it works out that we are able to all get together and just relax and enjoy being together and sharing God's greatest gift of all.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord come into His gates with Thanksgiving~psalm 100

Too much fun!

Last night, after working all day, and bible study, I picked up Anna and we headed to curves, to make Christmas cards.  I was so tired....I think in reality we were all sooooo tired because we were silly. It was so worth the time, money and effort.  We made 3 cards, one was an everfold card, where you get 8 cards in one, by turning it and every turn is another card, pretty cool.  Of course, I was sitting across from Anna, the new Emerill of cards...Bam!  Every time she put another piece on her card, she would shout out bam!  I think she has been working with k-2 too long.  Her enthusiasm and creativity kept us all going.

The cards are awesome though, if I get a chance I will post pics.  This is a week of 4 out of 5 (10 hour days) and all kinds of new ventures.   I will for sure catch up this weekend.  (Scott says if you want to see God laugh tell him your plans!).

Time to scoot, God Bless your day, and keep the sunshining upon you, and give you His Beloved Peace.

I'm so excited

I am actually blogging from home!   That's right laptop with usb teethered to my internet phone.  We live in the middle of no-where and internet is extremely expensive out here, unless we do the dial up and we all know how that goes....but with Cole's tech help, I figured it out and am now able to blog from home.
SWEET.  Maybe I will even be able to blog more then once a week or so?

It's an absolutely gorgeous day today and I not only had it off work, but also got to spend it with my beautiful Grandgirls Bella & Kate.   We walked to the park (bout 4miles total there and back).  After play at the park, we went to out for Pizza and then to the library.

Recharged after short naps, we raked leaves, jumped on the jump-o-line, and even played at the swing set in the yard.  Now Mom is home and we are playing while she makes supper....more adventures to follow!

Oh come on now!

I have been sick for over 2 weeks and sister, this is getting old!  Yesterday, I even took the day off work.  Using my nebulizer in the day light I realized the doggone thing was not even working...duh!  So I got a new one and in only one day I am already breathing again.

This is going to be a short blog cause I am in town running errands and on the laptop...with $80 dollars worth of groceries in the  back of the van.  Ok you get the drift.   Hope the weather holds and the weekend is good.

Hanging out with Mr. Handsome!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning, and I get to spend it with my handsome honey!   Started it out by sleeping in, oh yeah....Coffee was hot and ready when I shuffled my feet to the kitchen.  We drove into town and I worked out at curves, while handsome googled every car in the 3 small local car lots.  Then, we met up with Anna, for a stroll thru the thrift shop.  Now, were hanging at the library enjoying the view of the lake with the reflection of autumn colored leaves.

The plan is to till up the garden and fence in the pumpkins...( There is a animal on the prowl at night that has devoured my garden and has started on the pumpkins).  I hope to make some cabbage rolls for dinner with home made mash potatoes....Think we might have a "fire camp" too?

Well, enough blogging and time to get moving...Have a great Weekend everyone!

Summer's officially over!

Finished the first week of 2010-2011.  The students and staff were both pretty quiet-I believe we're all in denial! I know I am.   The leaves are starting to turn and the evenings bring a autumn chill.  We ordered corn for the corn stove.  I believe in optimism, I am optimistic that if I am ready for winter it will wait.

Our fun summer get away to bayfield, Wi. is but a sweet memory.  I am hoping we get to do a nice autumn getaway too.  To go hiking in the beauty of autumn color while taking in thesweet crisp scents, sipping our hot cocoa while the scent of burning leaves surrounds us.

We must make it close to an apple orchard so we can go visit there and make some of my killer apple carmel pie.  ( maybe two!)  right, Angie?

It will be tricky to schedule it in with our oldest son Scott, doing the 25 mile bike ride in a couple of weeks and Myself and friends...and all my blog readers...yeah both of you...doing a 5 k walk on September 18th?  I'll check the date and sign us up :)

Wow...2 weeks of walking m.w.f.

I can't believe it is two weeks already since we Lisa and I started walking 3x a week.  We are up to 2.25 miles in 30 minutes! go us.  Neither of us has seen pounds drop, but I know I sure feel great after our walk.  The hard part is going to be continuing this next week as I am back at school.  We'll see how it goes.

I am going to make a big bowl of homemade chilli now, and maybe my famous apple carmel pie.  hmmmmmmmmmmm  I love autumn!

Pay day!

It is finally payday!  Why can't I make it from payday to payday with extra in my checkbook?   hmmmm.  Payday is always a good day though.  Started my Monday off with an almost 3 mile walk with my friend, lisa.  We got a little rain at the beginning but it passed quickly.  I got a workout at curves and then did my grocery shopping.  Now it is home to put away the groceries and then back to work at 3:30 for training in new pca staff for a shared consumer.

Al has jury duty at noon....and that should be interesting....wish I was a fly on the wall.

Okay, short and sweet. Let's all be productive today and coast the rest of the week;)

Thought for the Day!

Al, my sweetheart, and life companion, is having a season of discontent.  I know this season well, as I recently visited it, but have since moved on to a sunnier location.

Thing is, when I was in this season myself, my dear sweet husband reminded me of a recent book I had read and shared with him.  He said "get your eyes off yourself & get em on Jesus"
This really makes so much sense.  When your eyes are on you it is personal and only about your needs and let's face it, even more so, your wants. But, when your eyes are on Jesus, it is a position of humble service that reeps blessings and rewards never even imagined.

So that's my thought for today people...Let's all quit looking at rain clouds and focus on the Son!

Ps, lift those in prayer who are in their own season's of discontent or hardships.

What a gorgeous day!

After a whole string of too many hot days (90 +) It is 73 degrees and sunny, That is right, Sunny, as in not raining...Can I get a Whoot whoot?

The trouble is that it is August 24th, only two weeks till we go back to school and life of leisure as I know it is over.  With School and start of Autumn comes my 50 hour weeks and trying to fit everything else I want to or have to do.  Oh well...at least I am here and breathing....let's just savor every morsel of Autumn, till winter hits us over the head with that white stuff and cold!

motley crew has nothing on us....waiting on the dock of the bayfield wi

It's a dq day

Hey guys I know, let's walk to the park it's only 3 blocks....(felt like 40!)  Maybe it was the 90 degree temp or the two and four year old in tow.
Grandpa went to the dairy queen and brought us all dq's ...okay what was left of the ice cream.   Ice cream cones don't travel well in hot weather. (silly grandpa)

Sunday, August 15, 2010

of course its raining we're camping aren't we?

We pulled into Bayfield about noon.  I got lunch started while the rest broke camp.   After lunch, we all went to bayfield to sight see.  Well, all but Al who stayed back with Ernie and took in a nap.  We had some awesome icecream cones there....hmmmm

once back to camp we tried to go bike riding but the hills and the effort involved canceled that back.  It was about 6pm when the firewood was delivered to our campsite and I started the steaks, potatoes and green beans.  Dessert was smores and cocoa, I had maple flavored cookies with sutterhouse pinot griggio.

We were just finishing dessert when kate spilled the cocoa on herself, she was ok but worked up.   Kate and I went to the camper for comfort and with in 10 minutes the skies opened and the rain came a pouring down!

Thank God the campground has wifi!  and here we are...all together snuggled in the popup camper with the rain singing us to sleep.

Moving Day! Good bye big city ....home again, home again jiggity jog!

She did it! After 5 very long years, lots of hard work, and living in an incredibly small apartment, she graduated from the Uof M and passed her Teaching Test.  When she left her small town, MN  in 2005 she was embarking on a journey with a relatively unknown future.

She returns to her small home town, with miricle of miricles, a teaching job!  What an unexpected turn of fate.  She comes back as a married women and young professional, walking the same halls she left five years ago with uncertainty.  Now she is a contemporary to the same teachers who helped her discover herself and what she wanted to do with her future.  She is a wonderful young lady to whom I am proud to call my daughter.  She is, I am sure, one of the finest new music teachers to come along in sometime, with compassion and talent both.

Welcome home Anna and Tim.....We are so blessed to have you home.

Welcome home Anna and Tim....We're so happy for you both

Happy Birthday Baby Boy

Thirty-one years ago today, You came into the world.  You were not screaming your lungs off, you were not healthy pink.  You were purple and the neonatal team at the hospital worked for 20 minutes before you pinked up and screamed hello mom!  It was after some 12 hours of labor, and some modifications to my anatomy that you came into the world, and my world has never been the same.  I often joked that August 12, 1979 was the last time I had 8 full hours of uninterrupted sleep because you were born on the August 13th, 1979.  You were always your Dad's lucky 13 I guess.
You have always been laid back and easy to get along with.  You are also fiercly stubborn and set in your ways. I guess you have a little of Dad and I both.   :)

Well Happy Birthday sweet heart ~We Love you ~  Mom
