It was my Lucky Saturday!

Today, Scott & Angie, and those two adorable grandgirls of ours, and Anna (with puppies, Berta and Ernie) all came to visit.  We had so much fun.  It was just great to be together.  My Mom, who is rehabing here with us, really needed the lift that today's visit gave her.

I also got a surprise check in the mail.  The check was only 12.60$ but it was for selling two more hats at "Made in Mora" a place where local artist can sell their wares, and they get a percent for selling it for you.
Awesome....I am an artist.

OH My, How Fancy!

Saturday, Janurary 15th, 2011,  We had Our First Ever Fancy Nancy- Grandma & Grandpa ice cream party.   It was really Fancy, We had purple feather Boa's, Glittery tiara's, and shiny bead necklaces!   We even had fancy ice cream from Cold Stone.  Miss Bella went with blue cotton candy ice cream with sprinkles and gooey gummy bears.  Miss Kate chose the chocolate with sprinkles and twix.....hmmmm good.  Grandpa had chocolate devotion and Grandma indulged in coffee lovers delight.  (Mom) Angie, went with cheesecake with banans and strawberries, While (Dad) Scott had ? I think it was cookies and cream.

It's okay to have all that ice cream when you go to the YMCA for two hours and do the virtual treadmill walking in Chicago and swim or hot tub too

Sometimes, like today, on my way back home to Mora, I wish we lived closer to Scott & Angie and the Grandgirls.   But I also can't ever imagine living in a city or subburb again.  Yes, We live in bum egypt.  But it works for us.   I guess we are lucky that it is only a little over an hr. drive to their house and not a whole nother state or counrty......

Hola from Martha with Love

We got our first ever letter from Martha today.  Martha is our little girl from Elsalvador that we just started sponsoring in November via World Vision.  Her name is Martha Magdelina Perez, isn't that just beautiful?  She just turned 10 on January 4, 2011.  She is an only child.  She writes....

Dear Sponsor.
I greet you with much love, hoping that you are in good health.

My family and friends call me Martha.  When I grow up, I would like to be a college graduate.  My family and I live in a house made of sheet metal walls and roof.  We drink potable water.  We usally eat beans, rice, fish, eggs, and corn tortillas.  My favorite food is chicken.  The school is one hour away.  The health post is 2 hours away.  The geographical area is sloped and the weather is hot.  I would like to hear from you through letters and photographs.

With much love, MARTHA
Until the next time.

Isn't that the sweetest letter ever, I am so excited to be embarking on this journey.  God has so blessed us and it takes so little to help a whole family in this way.  She is so far away and in such a different culture and yet we are all children of the same heavenly father, making us truely sisters in Christ.
