Can it finally be Spring?

We took a little ride to town today, and I found some awesome, light weight-terracotta-looking planters.  They were only 1.19 a piece.  I purchased 7 of them.  With Mr. Handsome's help they now adorn our deck railing.  I planted spinach, sugar pea pods, raddishes, italian lettuce, and green leaf lettuce.  How wonderful is it going to be in a month or so, to simply step out to the deck and pick our fresh salad for lunch?  I usually put a pot or two of cherry tomatoes out there and herbs.  This year I am out smarting the bunnies and growing the lettuce and spinach on the deck too.

The weather was perfect to work on these projects....now if the ground would just dry up a little so we can till the garden and get those onions and garlic in.   They both should have been in already.  I have carrots, beets, peas, as well as, yellow & green beans to get in too.  So come on Sunshine and goodbye to frost and snow and cold weather.

The lake is still here and full of ducks, loons and trumpeter swans
view from deck of our flooded wet land...the dam is to the right of picture.

A new bunch of chives in a old pot....
Come on Spring/warmer weather....this ol' girl is just itching to get out to the garden and do some sowing and growing!

Hmmmmph!

Mama said there'd be days like this!   I tried to keep a positive attitude, I tried to remember you can do almost anything for only an hour, I even did the "This to shall pass"....But NO!

I ended up having to give up all my after a sucky day at work, fun with friends, to come home and deal with the dog that got loose on AL's WATCH!

The dog is still running loose.  If someone does not shoot him first, he will be begging to come in as soon as the rain / and / or snow start up.  Maybe I will just make him sit out on the front step and shiver ....then will see who is the smart one.
