It has been quite the summer and fall is on our door steps. Less than a week ago, August 16,2012 My life changed when my Mom went home to heaven after a very quick battle with colon cancer. The cancer was the final blow to her body that had many other health issues. Yet, she never complained.
This is a season with mourning our loss of her on our earthly journey, but a season of Joy at her no longer suffering with health issues that limited her.
I am so going to miss my Mom, she was one of my best friends.
In this sadness we are gifted with wonderful memories and the legacy of her life lessons...they were many! We can look forward to a spring that gives us hope and new life...Our oldest son and his wife our expecting a baby at the end of March.
Life will go on, it is best to savor all the delicious good times we are blessed with and live every day one day at a time. We will mourn and we will be sad...but at some point we can replace the sadness with the sweet memories and good moments. In this changing of seasons we can go on. We can get through the winter because we have experienced the spring.
This is a new experience for a ol' gal like myself.... sharing my thoughts, likes, and life in a blog

Summer
Summer is midway over :( but it has been a blast! I can not remember when we had this much fun. We even did something crazy and went out and bought a pair of motorcycles. Al and our boys continue to patiently teach me how to ride it.
This weekend we will be picking up Kate and Bella to come to our place for a week. On the agenda is a camping trip at their great grandma Discher's and visiting our local county fair. I love when those two little ladies come to visit, hopefully the weather will stay nice for us.
Speaking of weather, the garden has been great this year and so far I hardly have had to water it. We are so enjoying the raised beds that we are going to add two more next year! We're also investing in better fencing. Tim and Anna recommended rabbit guard, and that is probably what we are going to get. It is so disheartening to see beautiful plants and vegetables enialated over night. It's not just one plant it's an entire row! The raise gardens seem to be working though, cross my fingers they don't figure out how to get in there.
Well, much to do today, so signing off now...God bless this day and make it a your own.
